Welcomed by the warmth of Renuji’s family, I was immediately drawn to the serene oasis in the
centre of her home defined by the huge skylight and the pool, presided over by the Buddha. It is a
place for contemplation and rejuvenation, and I spent some precious moments there playing my
flute and revelling in both the reverberations as well as the ensuing depth of silence
